Sermon 12-28-08

We arrived at church to find the power out.  We had our church service in the lobby where there was enough light.  The sermon was not recorded.  Here are some notes from the sermon.

 Pastor Troy Budreau at FBCNM

Gen. 1:26-31

What makes a glft great is the thoughtfulness and sacrifice that are behind the gift.

I.  The Work of God

God made the world for us.  It is to support man!

II.  The Work of Man

3:1-7

Sin!  Desire only to advance self.

III.  The Response of God

Gen. 3:14-15

A Savior would come.

God's plan of salvation explained.

We need to live every day with thankfulness for our salvation first in our minds.

CONCL -

An older visitor at a church told a story of two fathers and sons salling in Pacific.  One father/son set was saved, and the other set was not.  Capsized.  Fathers were both OK.  The Christian father said, "Son, I love you," but threw the rope to unsaved son instead of his son. After he told the story, a church member came to him saying that the story was too incredible to believe.  The gentleman said, "Oh, it's true; I was the rescued son!"

Mankind is like that friend!  God sacrificed His own Son so that we could be saved.  Then after we are saved, we ought to live our lives for Him.
