Past Sunday - Inside Out?

                                                                   Inside Out?

Philippians 2:5-11

Hear the sermon at:   Inside Out? – Pastor Troy Budreau on 10/12/08

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

Compared to Christ

Certainly we bare the name of Christ (as Christians). The question is, do we live like Christ? The thought of reduplicating Christ in my own life is such an overwhelming thought; my natural reaction is one of intimidation. How could I possibly emanate the humility of Christ?

When I compare myself to Him and His humility, in my own mind I become a “nobody.” Without even realizing it, God has humbled me and brought me to my knees. If we are to possess true humility, we must first see ourselves for who we are when compared to Christ.

            1. What are 5 things that Christ gave up when He came for us?

List one thing you have given up this week.

            2. What are some ways that Christ showed His humility while here on earth?

Would anyone around you call you a servant?

Are you sitting in awe of what Christ did for you and I? My mind cannot comprehend this humility. How could my pride ever keep me from serving when I understand how my Master served? He washed the disciples feet!

Love Spills Out

As I sit at my computer with my Bible open, I am speechless with the thought of Jesus’ love for me. How could He love me?

Without realizing it, my Heavenly Father is giving me all the motivation I need to want to love Him. The more I learn about the Lord and His love for me, the more I want to love Him. He has purchased my affection with His own blood at Calvary.

            1. Take a moment to simply tell God how much you love Him!

            2. Can you think of a time this week you could have loved Him but didn’t?

            3. List a few ways you can show Christ this week that He truly has your affection.

When we are on our knees crying out to God, we are in the position He want us in most.
