Is Christ our Foundation?

Imagine what it must have been like to live when Christ walked the Earth. The Jewish nation had waited centuries for the arrival of the promised Messiah. When word began spreading about this man they called “the Christ” everyone seemed to form an opinion about who He was. It is amazing to think that God walked among them, and they didn’t recognize Him.

I must admit that it is easy for me to judge the people in Christ’s day without ever looking at my own response. When was the last time I thought about my Savior as the God of this universe?

1.     Think about some of the miracles Christ preformed in His earthly ministry.

2.     How did Christ reveal Himself as God with some of those miracles?

His greatest miracle today is that He saves and changes us completely! Spend a part of every day thanking God for you salvation. Think about it, enjoy it, be defined by it!

It’s convicting to think that the world’s opinion of Christ today is formed by what they see in me.

What is our purpose?

When you wake up in the morning, what is the first task your mind sets to accomplish? Eating breakfast? Getting ready for work?

Do not allow the world to assign purpose to your life. Often we miss our purpose because it has been filled with so many other things.

1.                     1. Make a list of things you would like to accomplish for God (write a healthy list of long and                             short term goals).

2.                     2. Tuck this list in your Bible. Look at it often. Determine that with God’s help each of these                               goals will be satisfied.

At the top of each of our lists should be the task of reaching the lost with the gospel. Why is this so important? Our Master gave everything to this one purpose, His power, His position, His possessions, even His own life. If I carry the name of Christ, if I am defined by Him – His passions must become my passions.

Set your purpose to serving Him, not pleasing yourself. Imagine how sweet those words will be to hear from our King “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
